Project on Waste Water Treatment

In the project UWM (urban water managemeng, SysUWM + ProcUWM) you will operate a laboratory waste water treatment plant (Lab WWTP) for several weeks. With the help of mass balances and additional parameters that you will measure, you will be able to judge on the performance of the Lab WWTP. In addition, you will work with nutrient sensors (nitrate and ammonia) to have an online control over the reactions. In dynamic experiments, the limits of the Lab WWTP are challenged and with this, you will gain a deeper insight into the kinetics of the involved reactions. The parameters of the biokinetc models (such as ASM3 and SUMO) are measured to have a comparison with the implemented values.

You will plan and carry out the experiments as independently as possible and you are responsible for the experiments and the analysis of the data. The results will be documented in a report.
